Jacksonville Invite Results

The Pleasant Plains Cardinals (IL Milesplit 1A #1) had a busy weekend in Jacksonville on Saturday at the Jacksonville High School 1A invitational.  The boys emerged victorious, squeaking by #3 ranked Carlinville.  The team scores were as follows:

Plains (#1) 68

Carlinville (#3) 66

Carthage Illini West (#5) 62

Madison 39

In addition, in Illinois' first ever virtual dual meet, the Cardinals beat the IL #2 Rockford Christian Royal Lions by a score of 60-54.  Full results can be found on either the Cardinals (@plainstrackxc) or the Rockford Christian (@rcyouknow) twitter feeds.

In addition, three indoor school records were also broken Saturday.  In the 60 meter prelims, junior Sam McAfee ran 7.29 seconds to break Bryce Anderson's 2014 record of 7.32 seconds. 

In the 200 meter dash, both Hunter Tapscott and Jonah Miller ran under the old school record mark of 24.52 set in 2012.  Tapscott ran 24.41 while Miller ran 24.47.  

In addition, junior Chase Schmitt threw 45'11" to break Dylan Warren's 2011 mark of 44'8".
