Rochester Invite Results

The Plains cross country teams had a historic day at Rochester Community Park.  The girls squad took home their first team plaque in their history in the event, placing 2nd in a field of 13 teams.  The boys also had their best finish in years, placing 4th in a field of 19 teams.

Seven athletes also took home individual medals.  Caroline Jachino won the race for the first time in her three year career.  Bernadette Tournoux placed 9th, Brigid Tournoux placed 18th, and Madison Utterback placed 20th.

On the boys side, Steven Melin placed fifth, Braden Moore placed 6th, and Michael Benning placed 18th.

While the girls race ran long, many girls turned in excellent times, but it is impossible to compare performances to last year due to the difference in distances.

On the boys side, both boys that ran last year bettered their efforts.  Steven Melin's 16:39 bested his 16:47 from last year, and Braden Moore's mark of 16:59 was better than his 17:14 effort from a year ago.  Michael Benning also set a new personal best of 17:33, which was ten seconds better than his previous lifetime best.
