The Pleasant Plains boys track and field team competed in the state prelims Thursday.
Elijah Teefey ran the 1600 meters in 4:37.79. He finished 23rd overall and ends the year as the second fastest freshman in 1A.
The 4x100 placed 11th overall, and just missed the top 9, which would have qualified for finals. Cayden Donnelly, Tyler Conn, Barnett Glisson, and Danny Skelton ran 43.71 seconds, which was the 4th fastest time in school history.
The 4x200 of Barnett Glisson, Danny Skelton, Tyler Conn, and Cayden Donnelly ran the 9th fastest time at the state meet, and ran 1:31.03. However, due to a technicality, they finished 10th and missed the finals by only one place.
The 4x800 meter relay of Nathan Dahl, Elijah Teefey, Garrett Beebe, and Cole Payne ran 8:11.52. The time is the fourth fastest coming out of the prelims. They qualified for finals, and ran the 7th fastest time in school history.
The 4x400 meter relay of Cayden Donnelly, Nathan Dahl, Barnett Glisson, and Cole Payne ran 3:30.06. They finished with the 8th best time and also qualified for the finals on Saturday.
