Spring break practice schedule will be released soon this week. If you are in town, you are expected to be there. If you are out of town, I need to know.
I appologize for the length of the meet, but that weekend is historically flat on the calendar; there are not many meets, they are hard to get into, and the two in our region that I can think of are both rather full.
That being said, I am extremly proud of the athletes (and parents!) that showed up. The level of enthusiasm that the athletes displayed, as well as their performance, was amazing. I am dumbfounded by the level of focus needed to achieve the daily goal, and by how well the team executed their roles.
I am also amazed at the level of progress that we have already shown this year!
Last year, in the 60, we only had 2 runners unde 7.55. This year, we have 4!
Last year, in the open 400, we had 0 runners break 60 seconds. This year, we have had 3, with two of those ranked in the top 20 in the state and under 56!
In the 800 last year (splits and relays) we had 1 runner at 2:10 or faster in the open or in a relay, and 4 under 2:22. This year, we have 5 at 2:10 or faster, and 8 under 2:22!
Our relays are also way ahead of progress with two weeks to go!
4x200: 1:35.91 this year, 1:37.53 best last year
4x400: 3:39.95 this year, 3:45.94 best last year
4x800: 8:37.39 this year, 9:02.76 last year, with 7 total runners running on sub 9 4x800s!
The athletes that placed on Saturday Include:
